Non-Commercial Operations non-motor powered aircraft

 

General

Albanian Civil Aviation Authority conducts oversight in order to determine continued compliance with regulations in the field of flight operations.

Parachutists

Parachute use and maintenance, parachute jumping and locations for parachute jumping are regulated under Ordinance on parachuting (Minister of Transportation Order No. 49, date 30.04.2012).

Tandem parachuting

Tandem jump can be performed by person who has valid tandem pilot rating. Tandem parachute jumps on natural sites is allowed to tandem pilot who has at least 100 tandem jumps.

Tandem pilot is obliged to inform passenger about:

existence or non-existence of an insurance policy covering the risk of injury caused to passenger,

emergency procedures in the aircraft,

aircraft exit procedure,

free fall procedure,

parachute activation procedures,

main parachute failure procedure, and

landing procedure.

Tandem pilot must develop and document passenger information procedures, which can be made in the form of checklists.

Parachute jumps on natural sites

Parachute jumps on natural sites has to be authorized by ACAA. Request for authorization of an parachute jumps on natural sites has to be submitted to the Flight Authorization Office.

Paragliders, hang gliders, powered parachutes and gliders empty weight of 80/100 kg

Flight operations of paragliders, hang gliders, powered parachutes and gliders empty weight of 80/100 kg shall be conducted in accordance with the conditions of the Ordinance on conditions and way of using hang glider, paraglider, powered parachutes and gliders empty weight of 80/100 kg, Ordinance on rules of the air and the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) no. 923/2012 (SERA); Transposed by MO No 49, date 30.04.2012 and No. 152, dt.09.04.2014; (EU) No 2016/2008 , Transposed by MO No 3, date 07.02.2011; Reg.(EU) No 965/2012 ,Transposed by MO 3746, date 10.07.2017.

Passenger flights (tandem flights)

Pilot who has valid tandem pilot rating can carry a passenger.

Tandem pilot is obligated to inform passenger about:

the existence or non-existence of an insurance policy covering the risk of injury caused to passenger standard procedures, and emergency procedures.

Tandem pilot must develop and document passenger information procedures, which can be made in the form of checklists.

Balloons

Balloon flight operations are conducted in compliance with conditions of Ordinance on requirements for air operations and on organization requirements to be met by aircraft operators, Ordinance on rules of the air and Commission Implementing Regulations (EU) No. 923/2012, Transposed by Mo No. 49, date 30.04.2012 and MO No. 152, dt.09.04.2014

Sailplanes

Sailplane flight operations are conducted in compliance with conditions of Ordinance on requirements for air operations and on organization requirements to be met by aircraft operators, Ordinance on rules of the air and Commission Implementing Regulations (EU) No. 923/2012.; Transposed by Minister of Transport`s Order No. 152, dt.09.04.2014.
